How Can You Open a Union Plus Credit Card Account?

Individuals who are members of a union associated with the AFL-CIO and Union Plus can apply to open a Union Plus credit card by submitting an application online at or by calling the toll-free number. An approval decision is made after checking the applicant's credit report and score.

Individuals may choose from among three Union Plus cards managed by Capital One. The Cash Rewards card requires an excellent credit rating for approval and offers a credit limit of $500 to $15,000. Customers receive 1.5 percent cash back on purchases, no annual fee and a variable 12.9 to 20.9 percent interest rate.

The Rate Advantage card also requires an excellent credit rating for approval. Qualified customers receive a $500 to $7500 credit limit with no annual fee and a variable interest rate of 10.9 to 18.9 percent.

The Credit Access card only requires a good credit rating and helps customers build credit with a $300 to $2500 credit limit. Card holders pay a $35 annual fee and a 19.8 percent variable interest rate.

Union Plus card holders can register for an online account to manage their card and pay bills. They may also receive special rebates and offers from Union Plus. Card holders experiencing financial hardship may qualify for grants.
