On Care.com, a babysitter can search for jobs within the search radius she specifies, and she can also use keywords in her search. The search results are arranged by relevance by default, but they can also be arranged by other criteria, such as the date the job was posted or the number of applicants the job has. She can then apply to jobs by sending the family a message on Care.com. The family can view her profile through the message, and families are also able to browse babysitter profiles and contact babysitters on their own. A babysitter can add a variety of information to her profile, including a description of herself and any relevant skills, such as a CPR certification.
Sittercity has a similar system, as a babysitter is able to set up a profile and view job postings of families in her area. Sittercity also provides a babysitting rate calculator that provides the average rate babysitters charge in each state. Along with Care.com, Sittercity gives a babysitter the option of having a background check done, which then shows up on her profile.Learn more about Job Search
