To find the arrival date of an IRS tax refund, use the Where's My Refund? tool located on IRS.gov, the IRS explains. Taxpayers need to enter their Social Security Number, anticipated refund amount and filing status to obtain status information.
The Where's My Refund? tool provides taxpayers with a status update on their refund approximately 24 hours after a tax return has been electronically filed, and four weeks after a return was submitted by mail, the IRS explains. Status updates are provided once every 24 hours. Generally, it taxes 21 days after a tax return was filed and accepted before a refund is issued.
