Indeed, Snag A Job, Monster and Simply Hired each have a basic search engine, and some of the websites also have advanced search engines. The basic search engines each have a box to enter a job type (such as Carpenter, Cook or Video Game Programmer) and a second box to enter a location. The advanced search boxes on Indeed and Monster have additional boxes to enter skills or keywords.
Click the Search or Find Jobs buttons on each website to view matches. The entries usually come with job descriptions, and some enable you to apply directly through the job search websites. Other entries contain links to the employer websites for application information. Each website also has a new job email notification service.
Many state government websites have a careers page with state job postings. For example, the State of Minnesota has an advanced search engine enabling you to search for jobs by name, posting number, department, location and position type. The website also has an online application portal.Learn more about Job Search
