Goodwill promotions vary by region, so a promotion at one location is not valid at another. Regional Goodwill locations may offer a loyalty program that rewards frequent customers with coupons ranging in value from 10 to 50 percent, special discounts for students, seniors and military personnel or holiday sales.
For example, the Club Goodwill Loyalty Card in Illinois and southeastern Wisconsin entitles members to a scratch off coupon worth 10, 15, or 25 percent off any purchase on the 15th of every month, an automatic 5 percent discount on purchases over $20, birthday coupons and newsletter coupons for up to 50 percent off as of 2015. Each store also has its own sale policy, so asking an employee or visiting the local location's website may provide savings.
Alternatively, Goodwill has Outlet locations that offer deep discounts -- generally sold by the pound instead of individually pricing each item. At the New York/New Jersey Outlet location, each pound of merchandise costs just 99 cents. No other coupon or discount is applicable to this location.
Finally, some Goodwill locations do not discount their own merchandise but provide coupons for other local merchants, generally in exchange for a donation.
