Copies of restaurant inspection reports are available from local health public health departments. Customers can order copies of reports or, in some cases, reports may be viewed online.
Local public health departments typically exist at the county level. To find the appropriate local level health department, go to the website for the state department of health and search for restaurant inspections. When you locate the local public health department, you may be asked to identify a business name, address, or ZIP code and to indicate a date range for your search.
Examples of items that may be included in health department reports are whether employees regularly wash their hands in a sink equipped with soap, hot water and paper towels, and whether utensils and surfaces that come into contact with raw meat are used to prepare ready-to-eat foods.
