The IRS provides contact information on its website. The Contact Us link is in the Learn About IRS column at the bottom of the page.
The IRS uses a broad variety of phone numbers and email addresses to answer separate concerns and questions. For example, communication about identity theft, refund status and tax fraud all have different sets of contact information. Some issues may also require the completion of one or more forms before answers or information can be provided. For local assistance, the Office Locator tool searches for nearby IRS offices. Web-based communication with an IRS representative is also available, though only for specific topics.
