The official Visa website contains a list of providers that issue prepaid Visa cards. Individuals can go to the main site, click the Menu button at the top right of the page, click Personal and then select Personal Cards, and then click the Prepaid Cards option to find the list.
Some issuers that offer prepaid Visa cards through the official Visa website include AccountNow, Akimbo, Green Dot and NetSpend.
As of 2015, AccountNow Gold Visa cardholders can receive a $15 bonus for signing up for direct deposit to the card, and the company also offers refer-a-friend bonuses. Money can be added to this card from over 135,000 locations, including Walmart, Rite-Aid and CVS Pharmacy. The Akimbo prepaid Visa allows cardholders to link their bank accounts for direct loading without fees, and sub-cards can be requested for use by others on the cardholder's account.
Green Dot allows cardholders to directly deposit funds into their prepaid Visa accounts, and these funds can be accessed at over 20,000 MoneyPass ATMs. Green Dot Visa cards can also be reloaded at the register at Walmart, Dollar General, Walgreens and many other chain locations. NetSpend Visa cards allow for access to funds up to two days faster than other forms of direct deposit, and there is no fee for activation, credit check or minimum balance requirements.
