Green Dot bank services the Walmart Moneycard. It offers online account access for viewing transactions. There are several options, but as of 2015, the preferred fee allows users to reload cash onto the card at Walmart without a fee. The company waives the monthly fee for preferred cards when the user deposits at least $500 per month. The card accepts payroll deposits and government deposits, including Social Security benefits and tax returns. These accounts also include the option for online bill pay.
Walgreens offers the Balance Financial prepaid MasterCard. Cards are available in stores. With the cards, Walgreens cashes payroll and government checks for a small fee. People cashing checks have the option of receiving cash back when refilling the card. Automated teller machines in Walgreens stores offer free cash withdrawals from the account.
Both stores also offer gift MasterCards that are not refillable. They give the gift recipient more freedom than store-brand gift cards, but require the seller to pay a fee to purchase the card.Learn more about Credit & Lending
