As of 2015, Dollarama does not sell franchises nor offer franchising opportunities as part of its corporate expansion plan. Based in Canada, Dollarama is a dollar store chain that operates over 900 locations throughout the country, with branches in small towns, metropolitan areas and mid-sized cities.
Dollarama was founded by the company's CEO, Larry Rossy, in 1992 and sells a wide variety of products, including everyday products, seasonal items and other types of general merchandise. All of Dollarama's products are sold under a fixed-price system that does not go above $3. Dollarama is a publicly traded company, and its stocks are traded using the DOL stock ticker symbol.
