When MoneyPak was available for purchase, consumers could purchase a card at a participating retailer using cash. The funds could then be used to load a prepaid card, to add money to a PayPal account or to make payments to a number of companies. MoneyPak can also be used to make cash deposits at participating companies either online or via phone. The MoneyPak essentially allowed consumers to do these transactions without providing their bank account details. MoneyPak states that funds added are generally available immediately.
MoneyPak does state that there are limits as to how much can be loaded onto a prepaid card. As of April 2015, customers can load up to $5,000 per month over 20 transactions. Weekly limits are $3,500 or seven transactions, while the daily limit is $1,500 or four transactions.
