Many public libraries and community centers offer basic computer classes for members of the community to attend. Computer literacy classes are also available online from the Saint Paul Community Literacy Consortium and other organizations.
Basic computer classes often cover several topics. Classes may start with the basic skills associated with handling computer hardware such as turning the computer on and off, using the keyboard and mouse, and understanding basic vocabulary. Other subjects that may be covered are common computer programs, what they do, and how to open or close a specific program. Many classes also feature the basics of using common computer programs such as Internet browsers and word processing programs.
