Free budget planners include Mint, BudgetSimple and BudgetPulse, as of June 2015. Mint requires access to the user's online banking accounts, while BudgetSimple and BudgetPulse do not.
Mint uses account activity to automatically update information. It categorizes spending and provides customized budgeting tips to users based on their accounts.
BudgetSimple is designed to help users get out of debt. The tool is based on an Excel spreadsheet the creator used for budgeting. It uses charts and other tools to track user progress.
BudgetPulse uses charts and graphs. Users can create financial goals, and BudgetPulse allows users to share goals with their friends and families, who can then contribute to those goals.
