Some brands of Costco products are Kirkland Signature, Costco Optical and Costco Travel. Based in Issaquah, Washington, warehouse club Costco Wholesale Corporation is the world's second largest retailer after Walmart, with more than 470 locations in the United States, 89 in Canada, 34 in Mexico, 26 in the United Kingdom and 20 in Japan, as of November 2015. It also operates warehouse stores in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Australia and Spain.
Kirkland Signature is Costco's trademarked private label, and the company sells a wide variety of products under the Kirkland brand such as clothing and handbags, health and beauty products, home and decor items, office supplies, and groceries and floral products. Kirkland Signature offers less expensive versions of more expensive products with many reportedly as good as the branded items, or co-branded with name brands to increase consumer confidence. Lifehacker reports that the same manufacturers of the original brands make some of Kirkland Signature's products. For example, Humboldt Creamery makes Kirkland's Super Premium ice cream while Jim Beam makes its bourbon.
Ranked as the United States' fifth biggest optical company, Costco Optical sells eyewear and offers diagnostic services even to non-Costco members. However, a membership is necessary to fill prescriptions. Costco Travel operates in the United States and Canada, offering discount travel packages to members, such as cruises, theme park holidays and guided vacations to various destinations such as the Caribbean, Europe, Mexico and the South Pacific, as well as domestic destinations such as Florida, Hawaii and Las Vegas.
