The Orange Everyday banking account from ING Direct is available in Australia and carries no monthly fee, according to the company's website. The account allows clients to use any ATM in Australia for free when they receive a direct payroll deposit of at least $1,000 in the preceding month.
When account holders meet the payroll deposit requirement, they receive 2 percent cash back on any Visa payWave purchases of less than $100 made in Australia. Other benefits include a variable interest rate of up to 3.5 percent on savings less than $100,000 held with the bank. Account holders also receive a Visa debit card that can be used internationally at any location that accepts Visa cards. The account information is accessible through online account management tools, mobile and iPad applications, and telephone service. Account holders also have the option of handling their banking through Australia Post locations.
Other benefits include standard fraud protection services, including access to Verified by Visa checkout tools for some retailers, as stated by ING Direct. Orange Everyday can also be set up as a joint account for combined household banking. Account holders have 24/7 access to customer service from the bank. Other services provided at no fee include EFTPOS payments, cheque requests and BPAY. Customers may also receive free replacement cards worldwide, including under emergency circumstances, and can place stop payment requests on bank cheques at no cost.
