Credit cards from Municipal Credit Union offer no annual fees, fee-free balance transfers and low interest rates. There is no penalty rate pricing or transaction fees with any credit card from Municipal Credit Union, according to the bank's website. Each card has a minimum finance charge of 50 cents and a grace period of no less than 25 days for repaying the balance for purchases.
Municipal Credit Union offers three levels of Visa cards: a platinum card, a gold card and a classic Visa card. A student Visa card is also available to eligible customers, notes Municipal Credit Union. When an individual applies for a Visa card, the credit union offers the customer the card with the best annual percentage rate that he qualifies for.
To receive a student Visa card, the applicant must be a college or graduate student and be at least 18 years old, explains Municipal Credit Union. A valid Social Security number is also required. This card provides a way for students to build or begin a credit history. Municipal Credit Union also offers a secured Visa card. This card assists individuals in creating credit, or in fixing damaged credit. Cardholders select a credit limit ranging between $300 and $5000. The funds for this account are placed into a secured Visa shared certificate account, which is a dividend-earning account that acts as the credit line collateral.
