The HSBC MasterCard has two reward programs that a client can select, as detailed by HSBC. The HSBC Personal Rewards Program that enables clients to earn rewards for travels and merchandise. The HSBC Cash Back Rewards Program enables HSBC MasterCard customers to earn cash back on eligible purchases.
In the HSBC Personal Rewards Program, cardholders earn one rewards point for every dollar in eligible purchases they make on their HSBC MasterCard. Cardholders can redeem the points they have earned for travel and hotel expenses. They can also redeem their reward points for gift cards and merchandise, as HSBC indicates.
Cardholders enrolled in the HSBC Cash Back Rewards Program earn a 1 percent rebate on eligible purchases they have made using the MasterCard, as of 2015. The cash back rebate is issued as a credit on the cardholder's January statement as long as the account is in good standing. For instance, if a cardholder's eligible spending in a year is $100,000, he receives a $1,000 credit on his January statement. These benefits enable cardholders to get more by just spending their cash while using their HSBC MasterCards. Cardholders can choose either the Personal Rewards program or the Cash Back Rewards program, according to HSBC Bank.
