The AT&T Universal Platinum card offers users cash back on every purchase, low interest rates on balance transfers, and account management both online and by mobile phone, according to the AT&T Universal Card website. The card also charges no annual fee.
The cash-back savings grow as users spend more each month. As of 2015, the card pays 0.5 percent back on the first $250 in eligible purchases. That increases to 1 percent for eligible purchases between $250.01 and $750, and to 1.5 percent for eligible purchases above $750, states the AT&T Universal Card website. The AT&T Universal Card has limited-time offers, such as a 0-percent interest rate on balance transfers for the first 15 months. Ongoing interest rates are determined by the market as well as by creditworthiness.
An additional benefit for cardholders is the Universal Card app for managing card finances, according to the Universal Card website. Customers can download the app to their mobile phones to check an account summary, review current or past statements, make payments and set various activity alerts. The Universal Card is one of two types of cards to carry the AT&T brand; the other is the AT&T Universal Savings and Rewards card. Both cards are underwritten by Citibank.
