ClarityNet was a Web-based safety training platform that allowed employers to customize, deliver and track employee training online. The e-learning software suite allowed employers to deliver cost-effective safety, human resources and health training in compliance with regulations, according to Safety Online.
ClarityNet was a product of Coastal Safety and Environmental first introduced in 1999. It provided basic safety content that customers could modify to suit their specific needs. Trainers could insert their own text, graphics, audio, video and test questions. The suite allowed employers to save different customized versions to serve multiple work sites. The application suite was available as a service, with the content being hosted by Coastal Safety and Environmental to save on computing resources at the customer's site. The system was designed to allow employers to deliver training anywhere at any time via the Internet, explains Safety Online.
The Coastal corporation, headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia, was acquired by DuPont on Oct. 14, 2008, and all brands, copyrights and intellectual property were transferred, states DuPont.
