Checking accounts can be opened without a minimum deposit or balance requirement by anyone who is 18 or older as well as kids between 13 and 17 with a parent or guardian listed on the account. Members 1st Federal Credit Union checking accounts come with VISA debit cards, the company website states. Savings accounts require a minimum opening deposit and balance of $5, and they may be used as an overdraft protection source for checking accounts.
Members 1st Federal Credit Union offers three different types of club accounts: holiday, vacation and youth. Holiday Club accounts require no minimum deposit, and the funds in the account transfer to the member's regular savings account automatically on Oct. 1 of each year. Vacation Club accounts also require no minimum deposit or balance, and the funds in the account transfer to the member's regular savings account automatically on April 1 each year. Youth Club accounts require a $5 minimum deposit to open the account. Children 12 years and younger are enrolled in the Kids 1st Club, while older kids are enrolled in the iMember Club.
