BaanERP was a suite of production and logistics management software produced by the Baan corporation until 2003 when Baan was absorbed by other companies and ceased to exist as an independent entity, notes PC magazine. Today, the Infor company produces most enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
BaanERP was used in factory manufacturing where it acted as an organizing principle for production, shipping and other logistical problems, states PC magazine. The software was used to keep factories and other production centers functioning at or near peak capacity without a need for elaborate systems of human oversight.
Baan was purchased by SSA Global in 2003. SSA Global was in turn purchased by Infor in 2006, making them the technology's holders.
