A certified nursing assistant provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Daily tasks may include assisting patients with dressing, bathing or eating. Other assignments may include collecting body fluid specimens, taking patient vital signs, documenting patient interactions and assisting physicians or nurses with procedures. Certified nursing assistants work in assisted-living facilities, physician's offices and hospitals.
