Archer Daniels Midland is an American agribusiness corporation that engages in food-processing and commodities-trading. Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, it is one of the largest food ingredient companies in the world.
With about 33,000 employees worldwide, Archer Daniels Midland operates 300 food ingredient plants, 460 crop procurement locations and 40 innovation centers, as of 2015. The company processes cereal grains and oilseeds into ingredients that are used in food, beverage, nutraceutical, and animal feed production. Archer Daniels MIdland also provides agricultural storage and transportation services through its subsidiaries American River Transportation Company and ADM Trucking, Inc.
Founded in 1902, Archer Daniels Midland is publicly-listed on the New York Stock Exchange. It had revenues of $81.2 billion in 2014.
