You can also apply by telephone, by contacting your local county assistance office, or by downloading an application and sending it to your local assistance office.
To apply online, click Apply for Health Care Only or Apply for Any Benefits on the Compass home page, according to Compass. You must turn off your pop-up blocker to begin the application. Fill in the necessary information on each page, then click Next on the bottom of the page. You can save your application and return to it later, renew your medical assistance, and check the status of your application on Compass.
To apply for medical assistance by phone, call the Consumer Service Center for Health Care Coverage, explains the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. DHS maintains a list of assistance offices by county for those who wish to apply in person. To download an application, click Application for cash assistance, SNAP and Medical Assistance Benefits. A printable PDF file appears on the page that follows. The application is also available in Spanish. Fill out the application, sign it, and return it to your local assistance office by mail or in person.
