Apply for health insurance on the Health Insurance Marketplace via Healthcare.gov online, by phone, in person or by mail. On Healthcare.gov, visitors can use a calculator to see if they qualify for subsidized pricing on insurance plans, preview prices and plans and then begin the application process.
To apply for coverage online, visit Healthcare.gov, click on Individuals and Families, and then click on Get Coverage. From there, click on the specific state of residence to be taken to that state’s healthcare marketplace. It is possible for certain individuals to qualify for enrollment outside the annual open enrollment period, and eligibility can be determined online.
It is also possible to apply for health insurance by phone. Interested parties should call 1-800-318-2596 to apply. Customer service representatives are available around the clock, every day of the week to help applicants fill out applications for health coverage or review eligibility results.
In-person applications can be made at community locations that vary by area. The U.S. government has individuals that help applicants fill out their paper or online applications. A paper application for health insurance coverage can also be submitted by mail. Applications are available online or by visiting a community center that has contracted with the government to distribute applications.
