To get started, create an account online through the New York State of Health website by providing basic information about yourself. You then receive an email invitation to enter the Marketplace, and you can proceed with the application process. If you have any questions or have trouble gaining access to the application, call the State of New York Health Department at 800-698-4543, explains the agency.
As you proceed, you need to provide information about each family member, your family income, and other health insurance you may have. The application also asks you to indicate whether or not you need help paying for coverage. From there, select your desired health plan, which includes Child Health Plus. You also have the ability to choose insurance for yourself as well as enroll in Medicaid if you or a family member qualifies. If you have any problems or need further assistance, a program in your community may be able to assist you with the application process.
