Individuals can get a Bancorp Bank prepaid debit card by requesting the card online and adding funds to the card once the customer receives it, advises NetSpend. Bancorp Bank issues several different prepaid debit cards, including the NetSpend Mastercard and the AchieveCard Visa.
You can use your new card to make purchases, pay bills online and withdraw cash from ATM machines, states NetSpend. You can add money by having pay checks, tax refunds and Social Security income directly deposited onto the card or by adding cash at a retail location, advises AchieveCard. Customers cannot use the card unless the account is funded.
Each card has its own terms and fees. For example, NetSpend prepaid debit card holders may select between three plans that charge a monthly fee between $0 and $9.95, advises NetSpend. The free plan charges a customer for each transaction, while customers with monthly fee plans can make unlimited transactions at no extra charge. Additional fees may include fees for ATM withdrawals, foreign transactions, bank transfers, balance inquiries, declined transactions and replacement cards.
Customers can manage their accounts online to view their available balances and transactions, states NetSpend. Some cards issued by Bancorp Bank may also offer rewards programs. For example, AchieveCard cardholders earn points for every dollar spent, advises AchieveCard. Customers can use points to bid for items in an online auction.
