American Express does not use MoneyGram, as it uses electronic transfers. Electronic transfers are one of the most convenient and fastest ways to withdraw and deposit money. American Express allows transfers by phone or online.
In order to make an electronic transfer, the owner of the American Express personal savings account will need to link their account to an external bank's checking or savings account. The account must have the same name as the name on the American Express personal savings account. For security reasons, the owner of the account will be asked to confirm two different test deposits that American Express will make into the owner's bank account. After the owner has linked their account to an external bank account and it has been verified, they can transfer money. The owner can link up to three external accounts to their personal savings account.
