In 1908, Concord launched its company in Biel, Switzerland. Its founders aimed to create luxury watches that appealed to the American consumer. In 1970, Concord opened its first North American office in New York. Nine years later, it became the first watch company to make a watch with a total thickness less than 2mm. This watch measured 1.98mm.
Concord was also one of the first watch companies to incorporate precious metals and gems into its watch collections. Additionally, it was one of the first companies to make wristwatches made of coins. Due to Concord's excellent innovations, it partnered with luxury jewelers such as Tiffany & co.,Van Cleef & Arpels and Cartier.
In 2007, Concord completely reinvented its brand. It closed many of its original dealerships and focused on introducing the C1. The C1 targeted the sports luxury brands, and competed with watch companies such as Panerai and Hublot. Concord narrowed its market by only launching a few hundred dealers worldwide.
In 2014, Concord relaunched its 1980s Mariner collection, but updated it to match today's watch market. As of 2015, a typical Concord watch costs between $1,000 and $20,000.Learn more about Watches
