What Are Some Ways to Lighten Hair Naturally?

Several ways to lighten and highlight hair naturally include the use of lemon, honey, vinegar, cinnamon, vitamin C or baking soda. These do not have harsh chemicals that cause dry and brittle hair.

The most common folk remedy for highlighting hair is rinsing hair with a mixture of lemon juice and water. The results are more subtle than other natural methods. Soaking hair in honey is another way to lighten hair. In a more advanced version, hair is soaked in a concoction of honey, vinegar, extra virgin olive oil and cinnamon. Hair is lightened with vitamin C by crushing several tablets and mixing the powder with standard shampoo. Hair can also be highlighted with baking soda. Soaking hair in baking soda once a week strips the hair of chemicals and gradually lightens and highlights.
