A person can use a baking soda paste to remove buildup in their hair. The paste should consist of equal parts of baking soda and shampoo.
After mixing the two products to create the paste, users should lather it through their hair and let it sit for several minutes before thoroughly rinsing it out.
Astringent can also be used to remove buildup from the hair. To use astringent, users should part the hair in sections, and soak a cotton ball in the astringent. They should then dab the astringent on the scalp and work their way down to the ends of the hair. After doing this, they can shampoo as normal.
