To wash a Brazilian hair weave, brush it, rinse it with warm water, shampoo the hair, rinse several more times, apply conditioner, wait 15 minutes, rinse, and then blow dry the weave. This process takes several hours and requires a hairbrush, a sink, a pitcher, shampoo, conditioner and a blow dryer.
- Brush the hair
Gently brush the hair to remove tangles and dirt.
- Wet the hair
Fill a pitcher with warm water, and pour the water over the hair. Repeat until all of the hair is wet.
- Shampoo the hair
Apply a hydrating shampoo, and work it through the weave with your fingers. If the weave is dirty and does not produce lather, rinse the weave, and then shampoo it again. Shampoo and rinse the hair until it feels clean and the shampoo lathers well. Rinse with warm water.
- Apply conditioner
Apply a hydrating conditioner, and leave it on the hair for 15 minutes. Rinse the hair thoroughly so no conditioner residue remains.
- Dry the hair
Dry the hair with a blow dryer, paying special attention to the weave tracks. Do not stop until all of the weave tracks are completely dry, as damp weave tracks invite mildew and unpleasant odors.
