There are many different ways to use MAC eye shadow palette. One popular look, as of 2014, is the "smoky" eye look, which can be created using MAC's Melt My Heart palette.
Prime your eyelids
An eye shadow primer makes the eye shadow last. Primers are especially effective during the summer, when makeup can melt in the outside heat. Apply primer to your eyelids before applying the rest of the makeup.
Apply the lightest color
Apply Forgery, the lightest color on the palette, to the brow bone and inner corner of your eyes. Blend outward and slightly upward to highlight the inner corner of the eye and help the eye appear larger.
Apply the eyelid and crease colors
Apply the Melt My Heart shade from inner corner to outer corner of your eyelids without covering the lighter shade in the inner corner. Apply the Silver Lining shade to the creases, stopping just before the outer corners.
Apply the darkest shade of eye shadow
Apply the darkest shade of eye shadow, Heather Belles, to the outer corner of your eyelids. Stay below the crease when applying. Blend this shade smoothly with the others to achieve the smoky look. Finish with black or grey eyeliner and mascara.
