To clean ears with hydrogen peroxide, you need hydrogen peroxide, a towel, olive oil, a medicine dropper, warm water and two large, deep bowls. The whole procedure can be done in at least 30 minutes.
- Warm the peroxide and oil
Fill the two bowls with warm water. Place the hydrogen peroxide bottle in one and the olive oil bottle in the other to gently warm the liquids.
- Use the oil first
Draw a few drops of olive oil into the medicine dropper. Tilt your head to the side so that the ear to be cleaned is facing the ceiling. Drop a couple of drops of oil into the ear canal, and let it sit for a few minutes.
- Use the hydrogen peroxide
Keep your head tilted, and use the medicine dropper to add three to four drops of hydrogen peroxide to your ear. You may hear the peroxide bubble inside the ear canal. Let the peroxide and oil solution sit in the canal for 15 minutes.
- Empty the ear canal
Place a towel on the shoulder under the ear with the cleaning solution, and tilt your head all the way to your shoulder to empty the ear canal. Any ear wax in the canal should come out with the solution.
- Repeat with the other ear
Repeat the cleaning process on your other ear.
