Although there are numerous ways to use green tea to beautify skin, a popular method is to use it as a face mask twice a week. Mix green tea with baking soda and honey to exfoliate, detoxify and moisturize the skin.
- Mix green tea and baking soda together
In a bowl, add equal amounts of green tea powder and baking soda with a small amount of honey. Mix thoroughly so that all ingredients are evenly distributed. Green tea tightens the skin while honey rejuvenates it, and baking soda acts as a gentle exfoliant.
- Apply the mask to the skin
Using your fingers or a small brush, rub the mask on your face, neck and chest areas. Be careful not to cake it on too heavily, as the tea may cause the mixture to stain the skin. Wait approximately five minutes for the mask to dry, then leave it on for another 10 minutes.
- Wash the mask off
Using warm water, wipe the mask off. Clean off any stains with facial cleanser and a washcloth.
- Use the mask as spot treatment
The green tea facial mask helps reduce redness and exfoliate the skin. It can also be dabbed onto pimples as a spot treatment and left on for longer periods of time.
