What Type of Hair Is Used for Invisible Braids?

Human hair is used for invisible braids. When done properly, invisible braids are braided so thinly that they appear to be individual strands of hair.

When receiving invisible braids, the client's natural hair is braided tightly with 100 percent human braiding hair. It is important that the human braiding hair closely matches the clients natural hair texture. Because the hair is only braided about an inch, invisible braids work best on short hair, as most of the hair is left free. If the client has long hair, there is a risk of breakage after receiving invisible braids.
