The Topsy Tail is a plastic tool that works by flipping ponytails to create different hairstyles. The tool has a handle that you stick through your hair and a loop that you put your ponytail into. Styles are created by pulling on the handle, which turns your ponytail inside out.
The tool comes with instructions to create 12 different hairstyles. It comes in two sizes, the original and the Topsy Tail Jr., which is useful for styling children's hair or for creating more intricate styles with smaller amounts of hair. It's sold by Conair. As of 2014, it retails for about $5. It was invented in 1991 by Tomima Edmark.
