To style a slicked-back pompadour, use a generous amount of styling foam, and work it through damp hair. Using a paddle brush and blow dryer, slick back the sides and back of the hair. Add height to the hair on top with a mid-sized round brush and blow dryer, and then tease all but the hair at the hairline. Carefully brush the non-teased hair back over the top section, and shape the pompadour. Spray with a strong-hold hairspray.
To create an updo, grab a flat iron and some bobby pins that match your hair color. Create a deep part to one side of the head, and separate the bangs from the rest of the hair. Twist back 3/4-inch portions of the front section of the head one at a time, and secure the portions with bobby pins. Pin some of the sections, leaving a few inches of loose hair, and flat iron them with a slight bend. Create a faux French twist with the hair in the back of the head by pinning sections from the top down, and then arrange the curved top pieces. Use texture wax and hairspray to tame stray hair and hold shape.Learn more about Hairstyles
