To style a layered bob with bangs, spray damp hair with a small amount of hairspray and blow dry while brushing with a circular hair brush, rotating the brush as you stroke it through the hair. Brush the bangs out straight, and brush a slight, smooth curl into the sides and back of the hair. Use a flat iron as needed to smooth out unruly pieces.
To add volume to the layers, apply a mattifying dust or a volumizing setting spray to the roots at the top of the head and even it out with your fingers.
For a messy look, use a flat iron to curl pieces outward by holding the iron on an angle, starting about halfway down the hair. To complete the look, use a very small amount of hair wax to twist and curl individual sections after blow drying. Hold it in place with a dusting of hair spray.
As an alternative method of blow drying, use a flat brush to brush the hair over in each direction while aiming the dryer at the roots. Continue flipping the hair over to each side, to the front and to the back until it's dry, then use a flat iron to smooth it.
