There are various methods to stretch out a shirt, but a simple method is to use hair conditioner. Fill up a sink with moderately cold water and 1/4 cup of conditioner. Submerge the shirt in the mixture for 15 minutes, rinse off the conditioner, and stretch out the shirt.

  1. Create a water and conditioner mixture

Fill up a sink or tub with moderately cold water and 1/4 cup of conditioner. Make sure the water is not too cold to allow the conditioner to dissolve.

  2. Soak the shirt

Submerge the shirt into the water by placing it flat across the surface of the water. Slowly push the shirt underneath the water, but make sure it remains flat to evenly absorb the conditioner mixture. Allow it to soak for 15 minutes.

  3. Rinse out the shirt

Drain the water, and refill the tub or sink with clean water. Repeat until the shirt is free of conditioner.

  4. Stretch the shirt

Hang the shirt, and gently pull down on the bottom hem of the shirt. Then, simultaneously pull on both sides of the shirt from top to bottom.
