Skincandy is a brand of tattoo ink created by Mark August. In 1996, he started hand mixing his own tattoo inks because he was dissatisfied with the quality of ink on the market. In 2004, he was commissioned to create a line of tattoo inks for the show Miami Ink.
August also makes a line of inks called Bloodline. Between the two lines, SkinCandy Tattoo Supply, based in Burbank, California, sells 125 colors of tattoo ink. All of the inks they create are vegan and organic, and the company makes and bottles everything itself. Actor Sylvester Stallone is a notable supporter of SkinCandy; not only does he have tattoos that use SkinCandy ink, he also featured the company's ink in "The Expendables," which he directed in 2010.
