To style naturally curly hair, shampoo and condition your hair thoroughly, squeeze the water out with a microfiber towel, apply a styling aid and dry your hair with a diffuser. Finish with a serum or wax to tame frizz and add definition to the curls.
- Wash and condition your hair
Thoroughly shampoo your hair, and apply a conditioner to the ends of your hair. Gently comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb to eliminate knots. Leave the conditioner on for five minutes, and then rinse.
- Squeeze the water out of your hair
Turn your head upside-down, and let your curls take their natural shape. Squeeze the water out of your hair using a microfiber towel. Avoid rubbing your hair with the towel, as this can cause frizz and breakage.
- Apply a curl cream or mousse
Smooth a styling aid, such as a curl cream or a mousse, into your hair.
- Use a diffuser to dry your hair
Attach a diffuser to your hairdryer to dry your hair at a slow speed and a high-heat setting. Stop when your hair is at least 80 percent dry.
- Apply a serum or wax
Apply an anti-frizz serum or a styling wax to your hair to add definition to the curls. Diffuse the hair using a slow speed and a low-heat setting until it is completely dry.
