Most people should have their hair cut every three to four months. Contrary to popular belief, cutting the hair frequently does not help it to grow faster.
Trimming the hair keeps it looking healthy, but hair does not begin to split for several months after it is cut. People should give their hair time to grow between trims. It is also advisable to not wash the hair right before the cut or use heavy products before heading to the salon. If the hair is not trimmed every few months, the split ends will travel up the hair length resulting in dry or damaged hair. This also causes the hair to become weak, making it prone to breakage.
