Get rid of dark circles under your eyes by placing teabags over the area. This takes a minimum of 15 minutes, and you need boiling water, a kettle, a cup and two tea bags.
- Choose a type of tea bag for treatment
Choose the type of tea bags you want to use. Green, black or herbal all work. Tea has a diuretic effect, which means that it helps to pull fluid from the area. However, green tea has an anti-inflammatory chemical called EGCG as well as a diuretic effect, which helps to reduce puffiness as well as lighten dark circles.
- Brew the tea bags
Boil water in a kettle or heat it up in a microwave. Once the water reaches the desired temperature, fill a cup with water, and place the tea bags in it. Brew the tea bags.
- Cool the tea bags
After you brew the tea bags, allow them to cool completely. You do not want to put something scalding hot on your eyes. To speed up the process, you can put them in the refrigerator.
- Place the tea bags on your eyes
Place one tea bag on each of your eyes over the dark circles. Close your eyes, and leave the tea bags in place for up to 15 minutes.
