To get rid of bacne, often called body acne, wash the skin with a salicylic acid cleanser, exfoliate with a shower puff, and spot-treat pimples with clear acne treatment gel. This 10-minute daily process requires skin cleanser, a shower puff, a towel, cotton swabs, acne treatment gel and shower access.
- Cleanse the skin
Take a shower, and wash the affected area with a salicylic acid cleanser. Rinse the skin thoroughly with cool water. If you sweat profusely or apply sunscreen throughout the day, take a second shower as soon as possible. Avoid products that contain benzoyl peroxide because they often bleach clothing.
- Exfoliate with a shower puff
While you are still in the shower, wet a shower puff, and rub it over the affected skin. Do not exfoliate scabbed or raw areas. Rinse the puff thoroughly.
- Apply a spot-treatment gel
Gently blot the skin dry with an absorbent towel. Do not scrub it over the skin, especially on open areas or scabs. Squeeze a bead of spot-treatment acne gel onto your fingertip, and dab it on individual pimples. Use cotton swabs to treat hard-to-reach back blemishes. Keep the gel off of the rest of the skin to avoid drying it out. Wait two minutes before you put clothing over the affected area.
