To repair scratched sunglasses, polish the scratches with baking soda paste and rinse them. Apply brass polish, and rub clear automotive wax on top. This procedure takes about 20 minutes and requires brass polish, baking soda, water, a bowl, a spoon, automotive wax, cotton balls and several soft cloths.
- Apply a baking soda paste
Pour equal amounts baking soda and warm water into a small bowl, and stir the mixture with a spoon. Add more baking soda until you have a thick paste. Cover the scratches with paste, and rub them with a clean cloth. Rinse the sunglasses under cool running water.
- Apply brass polish
Shake the bottle of brass polish, open it, and moisten a cotton ball with it. Dab the polish on the scratched sunglasses, and gently rub it around. Wait one minute, and then apply a second coat. Wait another minute, and wipe the scratches with a soft, clean cloth until the brass polish is dry.
- Apply clear automotive wax
Moisten a cloth with clear automotive wax, and rub it into the scratches. Use light, circular motions. Apply two or three coats of wax, waiting 60 seconds between each coat. After you apply the final coat, wipe away the excess wax, and polish the sunglasses to a high shine.
