How Do You Remove Waterproof Mascara?

To remove waterproof mascara, wipe the eyelashes with a cotton pad moistened with baby oil, wash the face, apply moisturizer around the eyes, and coat the lashes with petroleum jelly. This 10-minute process requires cotton pads, baby oil, petroleum jelly, facial cleanser, a washcloth, moisturizer and a towel.

  1. Apply baby oil

Moisten a lint-free cotton pad with several drops of baby oil. Fold the pad in half, and place it beneath one eye with the curved side pointing down. Close the eye, and wipe the lashes with the straight edge of the pad, starting at the roots. Repeat the motion, then flip the pad over, and wipe the lashes again. Use a fresh pad to treat the other eye.

  2. Wash the face

Wash the face with warm water and a moisturizing cleanser. Gently rub the washcloth over the eyelids and eyelashes, but do not scrub them or pull on them. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

  3. Moisturize and condition the lashes

Blot the face with a towel, pat moisturizer around the eyes, and apply a small amount of petroleum jelly to the eyelashes. Do this carefully so the jelly does not touch the eyeball. Leave it on the lashes for five minutes, then wipe it off with a clean cotton pad.
