How Do You Remove a Fake Tan?

A simple solution for removing a fake tan can be made by mixing raw sugar and lemon juice in a container, scrubbing, then rinsing with water. Additional methods of removing a fake tan include using a 50/50 mix of bicarbonate of soda and lemon juice, or a store bought hair removal cream.

  1. Mixing a lemon and sugar solution

Pour 3/4 of a cup of lemon juice into your container. Mix this with a full cup of raw sugar. Combine this mixture and make sure you are in a safe place to apply it without damaging your furniture or clothing.

  2. Scrub the mixture on your body

Apply the mixture you have just created to your skin wherever you want the fake tan removed. Make sure you scrub vigorously. This allows the rough granules of the raw sugar to interact with the tan and increase the efficacy of the mixture.

  3. Let the mixture sit and then rinse

Wait for about 5 minutes, allowing the mixture to simply sit and rest on your body. After a few minutes have passed, use warm water to gently rinse the mixture off of your body. You should notice a change in your skin tone.
