To remove blackheads from your nose, use a cleanser to loosen the blackheads so they can be washed away, then use a treatment cream, a face scrub and pore strips to eliminate them. Blackheads are wax plugs in a pore made up of dead skin cells, debris, and bacteria.
- Apply a blackhead cleansing solution
Use a cleanser with benzoyl peroxide, which breaks down the wax plug and loosens it so it can break free from the pore. Although benzoyl peroxide is the most effective active ingredient to loosen blackheads, it can be irritating to dry or sensitive skin. As an alternative, use a cleanser with salicylic acid, which is milder but still effective.
- Use a blackhead treatment cream
Cleansing solutions are often not enough to fully remove blackheads, as they only remain on the skin briefly. Apply a blackhead treatment cream with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid once daily for more effective results. The longer the active ingredient is on your skin, the more time it has to work.
- Use a face brush
Use a mechanized face brush to more effectively loosen plugs from your pores and scrub them away.
- Use pore strips
Use pore strips that you press around and over the nose to bond to the blackheads. The strips are more effective when used after applying a benzoyl peroxide cleanser, as this makes the plugs looser.
