To prevent pimples, keep your face clean and avoid scrubbing your skin too harshly with loofahs, exfoliating gloves or washcloths. Make sure to always moisturize the face after washing. Do not use too much makeup and be cautious of hair products.
Wash your face twice a day to remove dead skin, impurities and oil from your skin's surface. Do not wash more than twice daily as this causes your skin more harm than good. Make sure to use warm but not hot water and a mild facial cleanser. Do not use harsh soap as it causes more irritation and inflamed skin.
Many acne products have ingredients in them that dry out the skin. Use a moisturizer that reduces skin peeling and minimizes dryness. Non-comedogenic moisturizer does not block pores and can be effective in avoiding acne.
When you do have a breakout, avoid using powder, blush or foundation. If you wear makeup, wash it off each day before going to bed. Use non-comedogenic makeup so that it does not make an acne problem worse.
Avoid the use of pomades, oils, gels and fragrances in your hair. If these substances get on your face they can block pores and irritate your skin, potentially causing more acne problems.
